Part of Green Gorse’s aim is to increase the presence of environmental topics in the curriculum across the subjects. By working with LEAF (Linking education to agriculture and farming) we were able to offer students and opportunity to learn about the careers involved in the agricultural and food production industry.

Thirty students attended a farm trip to Quarry Farm in Tadcaster and learnt about worm charming, how farmers are increasing biodiversity, how important it is to have healthy soil and the pressures facing farmers and the food industry.
