Students taking part in this visit to the University of Leeds got opportunity to design, test and create new materials whilst enhancing their Science, Maths and Design & Technology knowledge. Over the course of the day students learnt about medical engineering by learning about biomimetics – the design and production of materials, structures, or systems that are modelled on a biological entity and its processes. Students also studied materials engineering with a focus on Bioplastics, Smart and Hydro Materials and the physics behind how to make new materials more energy efficient.
